Employee Handbook 2022-2023

This Employee Handbook is intended to provide general guidelines and policies concerning the school’s expectations for performance of faculty and staff. This handbook supersedes all previous employee handbooks that may have been issued in the past. Since the Board of Trustees, as well as administrative and faculty committees, are constantly reviewing the policies and practices of Darlington School, the administration reserves the right to interpret, change, suspend, or cancel with or without notice any or all provisions of this handbook at any time. 

Each employee should become thoroughly familiar with the contents of this Employee Handbook, the Parent and Student Handbook, as well as best practices, procedures and policies of Darlington School.

  • Works continually to understand the needs of students, to know who they are, and to recognize the mindsets they bring into the educational environment. 
  • Understands and makes accommodation for different learning styles, and has high performance standards for all students that are appropriate for these various styles. 
  • Is accountable to students, just as students are held accountable by the faculty.
  • Works with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative community of learners that will foster a broad, mutual understanding of educational goals, expectations, and the support systems needed to promote student success.
