Thank You, Purple Tie!

We kicked the 2019-20 school year off showing the most school pride ever at our annual Purple Tie Affair! The Purple Tie Affair is our annual dinner, auction, and party to celebrate and raise money for our parent organizations, which include the Athletic Booster Club, Fine Arts Booster Club, Upper School Tiger Pride, and Pre-K to 8 Tiger Pride. 

This year, over 350 of our parents, alumni, and friends enjoyed a wonderful dinner by our very own Flik Dining, danced to the music of KAMP, and won auction items which raised over $187,000 for our students and teachers! 

The Purple Tie Volunteer Team created an amazing night for us, and we thought no better way to highlight the night than by the numbers. So, check them out below.

• 357 people made it the best night ever!
• 309 online bidders - some of whom weren’t able to make it to the event, but still supported our night!
• 300 reverse raffle tickets sold
• 248 Items donated by wonderful alumni, parents, and friends of the school
• 162 auction packages that created one-of-a-kind experiences for donors
• 35 AMAZING members of the Purple Tie Volunteer Team
• 31 paddles raised to donate $65,400 to our Fine Arts Booster Club
• 24 patrons going above and beyond
• 3 special event planners - thank you, Season Events and Lawrence Plantation!
• 1 FANTASTIC     alumni auctioneer - Lou Dempsey (‘87, LD ‘17), you are the BEST!
• 1 set of Darlington parents walked away with $10,000 from the reverse raffle
