Darlington welcomes new faculty and staff, recognizes those with new roles

Darlington is pleased to welcome the following new faculty and staff members for the 2020-2021 school year:

Tunika Lemons has been hired as a nurse in the Student Health Center. She earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma (LPN) from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and was most recently employed by Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency's Cave Spring Center. She also gained experience at Kindred Hospital and Floyd Medical Center Urgent Care.

Chase Miller was hired as a coach for the Soccer Academy. He holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from George Mason University and an M.S. in Sports Management from Mount St. Mary's University as well as his U.S. Soccer National "D" Coaching License. He has over a decade of experience coaching at various clubs, including Darlington School Soccer Academy, Rome Arsenal and IMG Academy. After earning his undergraduate degree, he also played for DC United, Bodens BK, Rochester Rhinos and Noarlunga United.

Michael Natarella will teach fourth grade after serving as a long-term substitute teacher in fourth grade at the start of the school year. He holds a B.S. in Social Studies Education from The University of Missouri - Columbia as well as an M.A. in Elementary Education, an M.A. in Education Administration, and a Ph.D. in Education Administration from The University of Alabama. He has more than 20 years of experience in education at all levels, serving previously in administration and teaching roles from pre-school to college. He and his wife, Emily, are the parents of Joseph ('34), Alex ('31) and Anthony ('24).

Matt Nolin was named tech support coordinator. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Emmanuel College. He has over 15 years of experience in corporate information technology, most recently serving as a technical analyst for NCR Corp. He and his wife, Becks, Soccer Academy girls' coach, live on campus with their daughter, Addi ('33).

Jordan Walker was named Pre-K to 8 music teacher after serving as a long-term substitute teacher this year. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Shorter University and a Master of Music from the University of Northern Iowa. She is also the pianist at Trion United Methodist Church. 

The following current faculty and staff members will move into new roles:

Derek Fine has been named network administrator. He has worked in the IT Office since 2015, first as technology support specialist and then as technology support coordinator. He holds a B.A. in Business and Marketing from Clayton State University and a M.S. in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University. He also holds multiple certifications related to data security. He and his wife Julie, a fifth-grade teacher at Darlington, have three children, Adelyn ('30), Harrison and Lily.

Matt Peer has been named director of enrollment management. He has was hired as director of student life in 2010 and has served as director of Upper School since 2014. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from St. Lawrence University and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University. He and his wife, Jess, first-grade teacher, live on campus with their children, Jackson (’24) and Ella ('27).

Jennifer Rundles has been named associate director of Upper School. She has served as associate dean of student life and taught science at the Upper School since 2018. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Tougaloo College and an M.A.T. in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix. 

Chad Woods has been named director of Upper School. He joined the faculty as a math teacher in 2006 and was named dean of studies in 2018. He also serves as master scheduler. Woods holds a B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of West Georgia. His previous roles at Darlington have included math department chair, head baseball coach, head softball coach and head golf coach. He and his wife, Lindsay, manager of The DAR Shop, live on campus with their children, Ava Ann (’26) and Barrett ('29).
