For the third time in four years, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) has named Darlington's Inkslinger literary magazine a Crown Finalist. CSPA's Crown Award for overall excellence is the highest level of recognition the association can bestow upon a publication in scholastic journalism. Staff members will discover whether the Inkslinger has won a Silver or Gold Crown when our program attends the 2023 CSPA Spring Convention in New York this March.
Creating this magazine is no small feat. The time, toil and treasure the students have poured into every page of this publication are especially outstanding when considering their efforts and finished product have landed Darlington in the upper echelon of scholastic journalism, keeping pace with the most competitive programs in the country. The staff members deserve immeasurable praise for this truly commendable accomplishment.

Founded in 1986, the Inkslinger is Darlington's annual literary magazine. It traditionally features works of writing, art and photography generated and contributed entirely by Upper School students. Each year, a staff 100% comprised of students curates the content, designs the pages and assembles the magazine for printing and distribution. The Inkslinger has been recognized at the state and national level many times for its outstanding content and quality.
