In the final days of Black History Month, students had the opportunity to go to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, Ga. During the visit, students were able to learn more about the civil rights era in the United States as well as other human rights victories and challenges from across the globe. They heard stories from the people that lived through, survived and fought for change in their communities. The students left the center feeling reflective and hopeful despite some of the truth seen at the center about how we as humans have treated each other throughout history.
