Part of Madigan's Senior Ventures project is sharing what she has learned about beekeeping with the Darlington Community. She taught the fifth-graders all about honeybees, completed a Kahoot activity with them, and provided an opportunity for the students to explore items from the DarFarm apiary. Madigan has been working with her mentor, Upper School science teacher Jaclyn Haynes, to sponsor Beekeeping iPeriods to teach and involve Upper School students with the DarFarm bees throughout the school year.
Senior Ventures is a year-long academic program built on a framework of leadership, innovation and community engagement. Through a proven self-guided exploratory process, seniors whose proposals are selected for this program work independently to develop a project that’s interdisciplinary in scope and is connective, performance-based, investigative, or entrepreneurial.
