As a connection to our study of plants in science, third-graders took the annual journey to B.J. Reece Orchards in beautiful Ellijay to pick fresh Georgia grown apples. We toured the apple processing facility, visited with animals at the petting farm, slid on the giant slide, picked apples right from the trees, ate a picnic lunch, enjoyed a tractor ride around the orchard, and played on the jumping pillow. Our day ended with time to shop in the farm market and bakery.
While at the apple farm, we bumped into a WSB/Channel 2 News cameraman with journalist Heather Catlin.
