The following faculty and staff members will take on new and/or additional job roles at Darlington in 2016-17:
Sarah Beaucham will teach Upper School English. She has been at Darlington since 2013, serving most recently as an English teacher in the middle grades. Beaucham holds a B.A. in English Literature from Berry College and an M.A. in English Literature from Boston College. She has also taught at Jurye Girls’ Middle School in Korea, at Breneau Academy in Gainesville, Ga., and at Boston College. She is married to Charlie Beaucham, who also teaches English at Darlington, and they have an infant son.
DeLean Brandon will be director of financial aid. She has been at Darlington since 2010, serving most recently as assistant director of day admission for ELA-5 and assistant director of financial aid. Brandon will continue to serve as coordinator of the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program at Darlington, which she has done for the past six years. She holds a Master of Taxation from the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Jody, are the parents of current students Ivy (’16) and Emily (’19).
Crystal Cleveland will be world languages department chairperson. A Spanish teacher at Darlington's Upper School since 2012, she holds a B.A. in Spanish Education from Campbell University and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Indiana University. Cleveland also has a certificate from the University Honors Program in Foreign Languages in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She and her husband, Joseph, live on campus with their new baby, Charlotte.
Chris Earnest will be network administrator. A desktop support specialist at Darlington since 2009, he holds a B.S. in Telecommunications Management from Devry Institute of Technology and A+ Certification in desktop support. Earnest has more than two decades of experience in information technology and previously owned his own business, Floyd PC. He and his wife, Heather, are the parents of Ashlyn ('21), Lillian ('25) and Madeline ('26).
Stefan Eady will be assistant head of school for academic resources. As such, he will oversee library services and the Teaching & Learning Center in addition to information technology. Eady has held a variety of different roles in communications, web development and information technology since he began working at Darlington in 1997. He currently serves as director of information technology, a department he helped found in 2003. He also has two decades of experience designing and building websites. Eady holds a B.A. from Berry College and an M.S.I.S. from Kennesaw State University. He and his wife, Carrie, the school’s human resources manager, are the parents of Jack (’19) and Callie (’28).
Derek Fine will be technology support coordinator. A technology support specialist at Darlington since 2015, he holds a B.A. in Business and Marketing from Clayton State University and is currently working on an M.S. in Information Technology at Southern Polytechnic State University. Fine also holds multiple certifications related to data security. He and his wife, fifth-grade teacher Julie Fine, have three children.
Tara Inman will be dean of students for global education. She has been at Darlington since 2002, serving most recently as director of ESL and spiritual life coordinator. She was also a head of house for seven years. Inman holds a B.A. and an M.A.T., both from Carson-Newman College. She and her husband Brian, an Upper School history teacher, live on campus with their children, Maggie ('19), Davis, Wesley and Harrison.
Kevin Ivester ('87) will teach math to students in grades 6 and 7. He has been at Darlington since 1995, most recently serving as a fourth-grade math and social studies teacher. He also coaches middle school basketball and golf. Ivester holds a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his wife, Jackie, are the parents of Lily (’25) and Adrian (’27).
Julie (Wilson) Lucas ('97) will be chief advancement officer. As such, she will oversee the two areas of school life most significant to the school’s annual resources, enrollment management and annual fundraising. She has been at Darlington since 2007, serving most recently as director of development. Previously, she was director of giving programs and campaign director at the school. Lucas holds a B.A. in Communication from Loyola University New Orleans. She and her husband, Sam (’97 LD ’13), are the parents of Wilson (’28) and Hudson.
Joe Montgomery will be assistant head of school for strategic initiatives. He has been at Darlington since 2004, serving most recently as chief advancement officer. Montgomery holds a B.A. from Stetson University and has over 25 years of experience in banking and in fundraising for private educational institutions. He and his wife, Rebekah (’78), are the parents of Anne (Montgomery) Parker (’05), Mary Beth (’08) and Hannah (’10).
Raymond Murray will be chairman of the English department. An English teacher at Darlington since 1986, he holds a B.A. from the University of the South and an M.A. from the State University of West Georgia. During his tenure, Murray has served as a college adviser and coached middle school football, junior varsity baseball, varsity softball, and varsity golf. He and his wife, Laura, have three children, Alex ('02), Brett ('04) and Caitlin ('07).
Beth Pollard will be assistant head of school for business and operations. She will continue to oversee the Business Office as well as facilities services, dining services and other revenue-generating functions. Pollard was promoted to chief financial officer in 2011 after serving as the school’s controller for six years. A Certified Public Accountant, she holds a B.S. from Clemson University. She and her husband, Jack, are the parents of Beau (’10) and Morgan (’13).
Becca Wood will be assistant director of alumni relations. She has served as administrative assistant the Advancement Office since March 2015 and holds a B.S. in Sports Management from Kennesaw State University. She and her husband, Tyler, are the parents of Emi Grace ('26) and Ty ('28).
