Eberhart to serve on accreditation team

March 17, 2017 | 475 views

Chris Eberhart, math teacher, director of student activities, and athletic coordinator for Pre-K to 8, has been asked to be a member of the SAIS accreditation team that will visit Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga.

Eberhart, who has taught math at Darlington since 2012, holds an M.B.A. from Berry College and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to Darlington, Chris taught and coached baseball, basketball, football and volleyball at the middle and high school levels. He also spent one year playing professional baseball for the Florence Freedom in Kentucky. He lives in Rome with his wife, Karen, and sons, Luke and Nathan.

Accreditation is based on a peer-review model that derives its greatest benefit from peer educators reviewing the school’s self-study and responses to standards/indicators evaluating them in light of the evidence gathered during the team visit.

The visit will last approximately 2.5 days, during which time Eberhart and the other members of the accreditation team will review the school’s compliance with SAIS standards/indicators and its self study; tour the school; and speak with a variety of stakeholders, including administrators, faculty/staff, parents, board members and students. At the conclusion of the visit, the team will create a visit report, which provides a recommendation regarding the school’s accreditation.
