Welcome to Episode 31 of The Darlington Podcast! 

In this Darlington Connects episode, host Julie Lucas ('97), Darlington's chief advancement officer, talks with longtime Dean of College Guidance Sam Moss ('63) about his time at Darlington as a student, his career path, and his upcoming retirement after 40 years of service to Darlington and 55 years in independent school education.

Julie Lucas ('97) joined Darlington's Advancement Office in 2007 and was named chief advancement officer in 2016. As such, she spends most of her time connecting with members of our school community and helping them connect with one another. Julie is often featured as the host of Darlington Connects episodes of The Darlington Podcast. Previously, she has served as director of development, director of giving programs and campaign director for Darlington's Second Century Campaign. She is the mother of two current Darlington students.

Sam Moss ('63) has been a member of Darlington's faculty since 1982 and currently serves as dean of college guidance and president of The Cum Laude Society. Well known in the world of college guidance, has served on a number of admissions advisory boards at various colleges throughout the Southeast and has served as president of the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association for College Counseling in Independent Schools (ACCIS), and as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), among numerous other professional positions.
