New Donor Spotlight: Olivia Drake (’17)

Thank you to Olivia Drake (’17) for making her first-ever gift to The Darlington Fund last year during our first-ever Giving Day. We love to see our young alumni giving back to Darlington!

Olivia has jumped right back into the Darlington Community as an active young alumnus. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she returned to Rome last year to work as a social media and digital marketing specialist at Atrium Health Floyd. She is also pursuing her MBA with a Healthcare Management emphasis at Berry College, with a projected summer 2022 graduation.

When she moved back to Rome, Olivia was eager to stay involved with Darlington, and we’re so thankful for her willingness to serve. She is currently a member of our newly formed Young Alumni Council and is a donor to The Darlington Fund.

In her time by the Lakeside, she was a leader on campus as a Tiger Expert (grade 9-12), an Honor Council leader (grades 9-12 with roles as secretary and president), a member of the "Y" Cabinet (grades 9-12 with a role as vice president), and a scholar in the Global Studies Program.

This same leadership and willingness to serve Darlington continues today.

“I started Darlington my eighth-grade year," said Olivia. "My stepfather, Sonny Rigas, gave us the opportunity to attend and I am so thankful. My favorite part about Darlington was the diversity and atmosphere. I miss it often! I went into college feeling so prepared and ahead of the game. I give to The Darlington Fund because Darlington gave so much to me and prepared me so well.”

Many thanks, Olivia, for being such an active alum. We appreciate you, and we look forward to our continued work together!
