Jennifer has been part of the English department since 2010. She earned her B.A. in English Education from Shorter College and her M.A. in English from Clemson University. While studying at Clemson, she spent a semester at Oxford University and later pursued her Ph.D. in English at the University of Georgia. Before joining Darlington, Jennifer was an assistant professor at Shorter College, where she also founded and directed the Writing Center. In 2009, she was honored as Junior Faculty Teacher of the Year. While at Darlington, Jennifer has shared her expertise at various conferences across the Southeast, focusing on her work with design thinking in the classroom. She was also named STAR Teacher for Darlington School, the Rome/Floyd County School Districts, and for Region I. During the summer, Jennifer serves as a certified grader for the AP Literature and Composition exam. She’s also a proud mom to Grant (’23) and Quinn Sikes (’31).
