Alex Johnson

Choral Director

Alex joined Darlington in 2021 as Choral Director, in which she leads multiple choral groups from grades 4-12, teaches classes like AP Music Theory, and supports the musical theater program. A licensed educator holding a Georgia P-12 Music Certificate, Johnson earned her Master’s degree in Choral Conducting and Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Georgia State University, graduating summa cum laude. Prior to Darlington, Johnson served as Graduate Assistant and Assistant Conductor in Georgia State University’s Choral Area, where she led the Master Singers, Women’s Chorus, and Choral Union in rehearsal and performance. She coordinated numerous performance tours, including appearances at the National Collegiate Choral Organization’s National Conference and the American Choral Director’s Association Southern conference. An active member of the professional music education community, Johnson maintains memberships in the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Georgia Music Educators Association. Alex lives on campus with her husband, Logan.
