Boys’ track and field team wins 5th consecutive Area Championship in dominant fashion

The boys' track and field team won the two-day Area Championship, held at Whitefield Academy and Mount Pisgah. Darlington scored 186.5 points, well ahead of Runner-Up Mount Pisgah's 123.
This marks the boys' 5th consecutive Area Championship (the previous 4 titles were Region 6A).
The boys' team was led by lone senior Alex Cox, who won the pole vault and 400 meters, and finished second in the 800 meters.
The boys' had nine athletes qualify for the Sectional meet, which will be held April 27 at Landmark Christian School. The top 8 individual finishers in each event from Sectionals will qualify for the State Championship, May 2-4 in Jefferson.
