Lindsay Woods has joined Darlington School as the new bookstore manager in the Business Office. The Cedartown, Ga. native holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from the State University of West Georgia and worked most recently as a teller at Greater Community Bank in Rome. Woods is a graduate of the Polk County Adult Leadership Program and Georgia Academy for Economic Development.
She and Upper School Math Department Chair Chad Woods are the parents of Ava Ann ('26) and Barrett ('29).
“I am really excited to get to work with the kids here in a different capacity, while getting to use my marketing background,” said Woods, who has lived on the Darlington campus for the last five years.
In addition to working day-to-day on retail operations from within the shop, Woods will also be working as a liaison with the I.T. Office to ensure that students’ ebooks load and function correctly. In the future she will also oversee the return of an online sales interface for the bookstore, granting the school’s global community better access to Tiger gear while also creating additional revenue opportunities.
Woods plans to greatly expand the shop’s operations and offerings, specifically for the ELA-8 and boarding populations. Her smiling face has already been seen all over campus with a “satellite” store at different back-to-school events and football games.
She looks forward to also adding new Darlington-themed items in the bookstore and resurrecting old favorites, all while working closely with students and faculty to gauge what is new, popular and on trend.
“There is such a sense of community here,” said Woods. “I am thrilled to be able to be a part of these kids' lives. Darlington is more than a place to work. It is a family.”
Woods is a member and past president of the Cedartown Kiwanis Club. She has also served on the Cedartown United Fund's Board of Directors and as the treasurer for Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center.
She and her family attend West Rome Baptist Church, and live in Cooper House.
