Alumni Council appoints president-elect, welcomes 11 new members

Darlington's Alumni Council recently appointed Ryan Fox ('01) to be president-elect and welcomed 11 new members for the 2016-19 term.

"We so excited to be expanding the Alumni Council by five members this year," said Alumni Director Vicki Vincent. "This will allow us to be more representative of our alumni base and to grow our efforts to engage alumni for the benefit of the school and our current students. Alumni Council is also a great leadership opportunity for those who have completed our Leadership Darlington program." 

Fox, the general manager of ADF Welding and Medical Supplies Inc., will become president of the Alumni Council in the summer of 2017. A member of the Alumni Council since 2011, Fox has served in a variety of leadership positions, including chairman of the Senior Transition and Career Day committees. An active Annual Fund volunteer, he is also a member of the 1905 Society.

Kent Barber (’03, LD '15) is a vice president at apparel manufacturing company KENTWOOL Performance and lives in Greenville, S.C. He is a member of the 1905 Society.  

Christie Doss (’07, LD ’14) is an account executive at Weber Shandwick in Atlanta. She has served as a class agent and volunteers with the Annual Fund. 

Dr. Hunter Edwards (’04, LD ’15) is a dentist in Rome. He has participated in Career Day and volunteers with the Annual Fund.

Bryan Freeman (’77, LD ’13) is owner and founder of Habersham Funding LLC in Atlanta. A longtime member of the J.J. Darlington Society, he has participated in Career Day and served on various ad hoc committees for the school. 

Kent Harrison (’01, LD ’15) is the athletic director at Mt. Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, Ga. He taught and coached at Darlington from 2006 to 2015. A member of the 1905 Society, he is also an Annual Fund volunteer.

Wes Henderson (’06, LD ’15) works at his family's business, Henderson & Sons Funeral Homes, and lives in Atlanta. A member of the 1905 Society, he has also participated in Career Day. 

Izzy Hortman (’08, LD ’15), director of marketing for USTA Georgia, lives in Atlanta. She has participated in Career Day and volunteers with the Annual Fund. 

Strom Mull (’06, LD ’12) is the marketing and development manager at the Cobb Chamber in Atlanta. She is a class agent and an Annual Fund volunteer. 

William Richardson (’05, LD ’16) is an attorney at Brinson Askew Berry Seigler Richardson & Davis LLP in Rome. This year, he and the other alumni at his law firm helped host one of three Rome-area Alumni Lunch & Learns. He is also a member of the 1905 Society. 

Layton Roberts (’82, LD ’15), owner of Etowah Employment in Rome, returns to the Alumni Council after serving three previous terms. A member of the J.J. Darlington Society, he is also a longtime Annual Fund volunteer.

Jennie Wright (’99, LD ’16), legislative counsel for Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), lives in Washington, D.C. She has also participated in Career Day.
