Rebecca “Becks” Nolin has joined the faculty at Darlington as head coach for the girls' Soccer Academy team. She holds a B.S. in Sports Management, Marketing and Psychology from Kennesaw State University and a USSF National C coaching license.
A native of England, Nolin’s passion for soccer began at a very young age.
“When I was about 6 years old, my stepdad would take me to local games on the weekend and I would kick the ball around on the sideline,” Nolin recalled. “I watched games with him on the television and I would play with the boys at school during lunchtime.”
Nolin's coaching experience spans more than a decade with time served as a technical development coach for the Gwinnett Soccer Association, Olympic development assistant coach for the Georgia Olympic Soccer Development Program, assistant women's' soccer coach at Kennesaw State University and head women's' soccer coach at Valdosta State University.
"We are very excited to have recruited such a great coach to lead our girls’ Soccer Academy team,” said Chad Liddle, Soccer Academy director. “To say that Becks has experience is a pretty big understatement. She served as a captain of the Chelsea Ladies Football Club in London and has played at the highest professional levels with athletes like Hope Solo, Abby Wambach, Mia Hamm and Julie Foudy. She has coached at the NCAA Div. I and Div. II level. I'm very excited about our Soccer Academy girls being coached by someone who can honestly push them to their highest potential.”
Nolin is ready to take the girls’ Soccer Academy team to the next level.
“I am excited about being a part of the experience and journey that the girls will take as they grow as students, soccer players and young ladies,” said Nolin. “I’m also looking forward to being a part of their transition from Darlington to their collegiate career.”
Nolin enjoys using her free time exploring the outdoors with her husband, Matt, and their daughter, Addison.
“I think Darlington is a good fit for my family because the school itself is very family oriented,” said Nolin. “Finding the balance of family and career is the most important thing to me, and I believe we can achieve that here at Darlington.”
