Winter Athletics Guidelines

Hello Tigers!

I am writing to you with regard to the winter athletic season and what to expect with our protocols and expectations for the games.

I am entering my 36th winter in athletics and I can share with you that I cannot pretend to know the right path in our current situation. I do know that it is all about the student-athletes, and I so much want them to have the opportunity to play, work, and compete with minimal interruption.

We will host our first games on Monday and our middle school basketball teams will be the first in action. If you are in the Huffman Athletic Center, you will need to wear a face covering. Please practice social distancing at all times and keep children seated with you. We have placed “safely seated” stickers on the bleachers to help with this practice. We will rope off the first five rows of bleachers behind the teams to help protect them and allow them some extra room. Please come to cheer on our Tigers! After games, do not encroach on the playing surface and don’t socialize. Please exit as soon as possible with limited exposure.

Concessions will be limited. During middle school games, drinks will be sold at the ticket table, but the regular concession stand will be open for varsity contests, selling pre-packaged foods only. If at any time we feel that we are not able to properly practice social distancing, we will limit entrance to the Huffman Center immediately.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation. We look forward to cheering on the Tigers!
