Darlington has welcomed two new staff members in the new year.
Kevin Ray will serve as head coach of the boys' Soccer Academy. No stranger to Darlington, he worked with the Soccer Academy from 2012 to 2017 as head boys' coach and, later, director of operations. Most recently, he was associate director of athletics and head boys' varsity soccer coach at Fountain Valley School in Colorado. A native of England, Ray was a youth/reserve professional at Fulham Football Club and Queens Park Rangers Football Club. After graduating from the University of Montevallo with a B.S. in Kinesiology, he played two years in the Professional Development League with the Louisiana Outlaws and the Palm Beach Pumas. Ray holds a USSF "B" License, USSF National Youth License, United Soccer Coaches Premier and Master Coach Diplomas, and numerous other diplomas and certifications. His previous coaching experience also includes Auburn University – Montgomery, Huntingdon College, the Panama City Pirates, the Eclipse Soccer Club, the New Territory Fusion Soccer Club and Troy University.
Todd Trowbridge will serve as web developer. He is currently pursuing a B.S. in Software Development from Georgia Highlands College and has completed DigitalCrafts Full Stack Bootcamp. Most recently, he was a full stack developer and dev ops trainee at Pyramid Consulting. A U.S. Army veteran, Trowbridge served as an air traffic controller from 2006 to 2012. He was the youngest training supervisor in Battalion history and earned two Army Commendation Medals. After being honorably discharged, he was assistant director of Brighter Tomorrows Childcare from 2012 to 2021.
