In this episode, Director of Annual Giving Julia Thomas ('07, LD '15) chats with Kate Flory ('17) about her Darlington experience, her college and career journey and how she continues to give back and stay plugged into Darlington.
Julia Thomas ('07, LD '15) returned to her alma mater to serve as director of annual giving in 2015. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia. Prior to her work in Darlington's Advancement Office, Julia was an intern here and also spent two years as an annual giving officer at the University of Georgia School of Law. In college, Julia volunteered as a student telefundraiser and was named a Consistent Top 5 Caller for raising over $50,000 per year.
Kate Flory ('17) was a four-year boarding student from Columbus, Ga. At Darlington, she was involved in cross country and track, yearbook, was a leader in Thornwood House, a Tiger Expert and an Advancement Ambassador. She graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Entrepreneurship. She currently lives in Atlanta and works at Merrill Lynch as an assistant vice president merrill financial solutions advisor. She also serves as a class agent and is a member of the Young Alumni Council.
