Darlington's Upper School division leadership and Student Life Office will see some restructuring for the 2024-2025 school year, allowing the team to further support students and teachers. Below is a list of the roles each person will hold, effective July 1.
Brant Evans will move from his role as dean of students to be the assistant director of Upper School. His primary responsibility will be to lead the Student Life Office team. He will also assist with academics and supporting teachers while continuing to teach his AP U.S. Government course. Evans joined Darlington's history department faculty in 2008 and holds a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. in Social Sciences from the University of Georgia.
Tara Inman will shift from her current role as dean of students for global education into a new role as dean of community life. She will be coordinating student engagement programs and student activities, along with continuing to serve in a support role for our international students. She joined Darlington’s student life team in 2002 and served previously as director of ESL, spiritual life coordinator, and head of house. Inman holds a B.A. and an M.A.T., both from Carson-Newman College.
Terar Everhart ('13), currently the Upper School administrative assistant, will move into the dean of students position. She will coordinate all non-academic programming within the school day, as well as support our students outside of the school day. She joined Darlington's student life team in 2021 and holds a B.S. in Communication from Kennesaw State University.
Kerri Nagle will continue her role as dean of residential life, which she has held since joining the Darlington Community in 2022. While the Administrator On Duty (AOD), a rotating duty, will continue to be the first contact for any after-hours need, she will be the next contact should the AOD be unavailable. Nagle holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from Bridgewater State College and an M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Nichols College.
As part of this restructuring, the Counseling Office will no longer be a part of the Student Life Office; the counselors will report directly to the director of Upper School.
