Senior Maggie Beth Jackson has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for November.
A day student who has been enrolled at Darlington since ninth grade, Jackson has taken 16 Honors and AP classes, and serves as secretary of the Student Activities Committee, Advancement Ambassador, a member of the "Y" Cabinet, and a captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. She also works on the DarFarm.
"Maggie Beth is a hardworking and resilient student who excels academically," said science teacher Jaclyn Haynes, her advisor. "She uses her humor and positive attitude to build community and encourage other people to excel themselves."
Outside of school, Jackson is dedicated to serving her community through efforts such as Vacation Bible School and the YMCA Mobile Food Market. She is also a member of YoungLife and the Georgia Junior Cattlemen's Association.
The daughter of Drs. Bethany and Chas Jackson of Rome, Maggie Beth will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Nov. 12.
