Hi, my name is Whit Molnar. For my Senior Ventures Project, I started a business called Bossman Bakes. I have been serving my community for a long time through many different organizations, and I have a love for baking. I wanted to combine these two passions and share my passions with others.
This love for baking started when I was 3, baking with my grandmother. Whenever I would go to her house, we would always bake something together or try out a new recipe. As I grew up, I knew I wanted to make this into my career. I also do a lemonade stand that benefits the Open Door Home and have raised $124,000 for the organization. Open Door Home is a home for youth who need a safe place to live. We chose the Open Door Home because I was a kid giving money to other kids. My mom and I started this lemonade stand when I was 5 to teach me about money. Year after year, it has grown into so much more than I thought it would. It is now an event that I look forward to every year, and so does the Rome community. I was honored with the Heart of the Community’s Young Heart Award, and I am the youngest recipient to ever receive the award.
I also work with the Rome-Floyd County Community Kitchen, which serves meals five days a week to our Rome community. They have many donors and people who volunteer. Working with the community kitchen is one of my goals because of the connection to food, and I can donate my desserts to the Community Kitchen
I bake and sell my desserts through Bossman Bakes. I have been taking orders for birthdays, holidays and corporate events. Darlington even hired me to make all the desserts for Homecoming. I would like to open a bakery in the near future. For now, I want to continue to serve my community through my love for baking and use my business as a platform to do that.
I have orders scheduled for the spring, and I plan to give more money to the Community Kitchen. I also volunteered for the Community Kitchen over the Christmas break and plan on volunteering in the spring as well. My goal is to continue to establish my presence as a small business, and I need to keep advertising to show what I can make to attract more attention and more possible opportunities and continue to impact the community.
