Darlington alumni Pat Arrington ('79) and Bob Berry ('64) are set to be inducted into the Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame at the annual induction ceremony and banquet on Thursday, March 6 at the Forum River Center. Seniors Emma Hunt and Atlas Kosedag will also be recognized at the event as Darlington's winners of the Rome Orthopaedic Student Athlete Scholarship.

Pat Arrington, a graduate of Darlington and Auburn University, was an All-American in the shot and discus at Darlington. He will be recognized under Amateur Athlete. His football career flourished at Auburn University where he started every game from 1981 to 1983 as an offensive lineman. He earned First Team All-SEC honors in 1983 and was named a second team All-American the same year.

Bob Berry, past Darlington Disgtinguished Alumnus honoree, has been a pillar of the Rome sports community for over three decades. Berry is being recognized under the category of Meritorious Service. His contributions to the Rome sports community include serving as a community coach for Darlington boys’ basketball, chairing the committee that brought NAIA National Championships to Rome, serving on multiple advisory boards and much more.

Emma Hunt is a 14-year day student from Rome. She is a three-sport athlete, playing softball, basketball and running track and field. Hunt has been named to the All-Region softball and basketball teams, and has been named the Most Valuable Player on her teams multiple times. She is the daughter of Kristy and Kevin Hunt.

"Emma goes about her business quietly but the leadership she exhibits on her teams shows her commitment to excellence," said Athletic Director Eddie Guth. "She doesn’t just participate in sports; she excels in them. She drives through challenges with strength, energy, passion and a team-first attitude."

Atlas Kosedag is a eight-year day student from Rome. He runs cross country, track and field and spent two years on the varsity swim team. Last year, Kosedag helped the varsity track and field team to their 2024 GHSA A-DI state championship win. He also serves as student body president, co-founder and co-president of the Servant Leadership Committee, coverage editor of the Jabberwokk yearbook, "Y" cabinet leader and a day leader in Neville House. He is the son of Arman Kosedag and the late Sureyya Kosedag.

"Atlas walks into a room and it lights up," said Guth. "He knows all of the students, and he cares for them. He is a great leader in school, athletics, and the larger community. Atlas works extremely hard as an integral member of the cross country and track teams. He is not afraid to stand alone and do what’s right simply because it is the right thing to do."
