Senior Blair Moseley has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for January.
A day student who has been enrolled at Darlington since pre-K, Moseley has taken 17 Honors and AP classes, and serves as a dorm leader in Moser House, an Advancement Ambassador, and a member of the "Y" Cabinet. He is a competitive golfer and member of both the varsity golf team and Coosa Junior Golf Academy.
"Whether improving his game on his own or at practice, competing in tournaments, or volunteering his time to help others get better, golf encompasses the very essence of Blair," said his advisor Ivy Brewer, dean of college guidance. "Hard work combined with talent has led to his success. Not only does he appreciate the fun and camaraderie of the sport, but Blair has internalized golf’s softer attributes: honesty, integrity, and dedication. These qualities are the very nature of who he is and what he has come to appreciate most ... Blair is equally dedicated to his studies as he is to his golf game, and his kind demeanor has a positive impact on those around him."
Outside of school, Moseley serves as an acolyte at St. Peter's Episcopal Church and works at Vacation Bible School and youth golf camp during the summer.
The son of Kimberley ('87) and Stephen Moseley of Rome, Blair will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Jan. 14.
