My Senior Ventures project focuses on sharing my passion for beekeeping with others. I designed four activities to allow our third-grade students to learn more about bees. They met at the Home-on-the-Hill and completed activities focused on honey bees, including making beeswax wraps and planting wildflower seeds that will attract bees. The beeswax wraps can be used to cover bowls or wrap food, and they were created using fabric and wax produced by the DarFarm bees.

Through a proven self-guided exploratory process, seniors whose proposals are selected for this program work independently to develop a project that’s interdisciplinary in scope and is connective, performance-based, investigative, or entrepreneurial.
