Upper School students had the opportunity to celebrate Pink Shirt Day! This special day, also known as Anti-Bullying Day, was established in 2007 after a student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Since then, Pink Shirt Day has grown into a global movement, raising awareness about bullying and promoting kindness and respect.
Everyone was encouraged to wear a pink shirt as a symbol of their commitment to standing against bullying. The Upper School community came together to create a more inclusive and compassionate world!
Pink Shirt Day activities were provided in the McCallie-Kennedy student center during club period. These activities included:
I want to thank members of the Green Team, BSU, ASU and GSA clubs for assisting with this event. I am hoping this is a day the Darlington community will come together to celebrate each year! This event was part of my Senior Ventures project.
Senior Ventures is a year-long academic program built on a framework of leadership, innovation and community engagement.
