FLIK, Darlington's dining partner, went into Thatcher classrooms to read books about eating healthier foods. For kindergarten and first grade, the book focused on the colors of the rainbow in foods and eating healthy fruits and vegetables. Students then built yogurt parfaits with their favorite fruits of all colors. Third-grade students were read a book focusing on gut health and microbiomes. Lunch was themed that day with healthier options to challenge the students to eat foods from all of the different food groups.
