The second grade started its Christmas Around the World unit by traveling to the Netherlands. There, they learned about Sinterklass and Dutch culture. Sinterklaas visits kids in the Netherlands and arrives every year on December 5th, riding a horse and bringing small gifts and treats to good children. Around the world, people celebrate Christmas in different ways, like decorating trees, singing songs, and enjoying delicious food with family. From the warm beaches of Australia to the snowy streets of Germany, Christmas traditions are as unique as the places they come from, but they all share the same message of love, joy, and kindness.
