The Upper School Band traveled to Cartersville High School to participate in GMEA's District 7 Jazz Performance Evaluation after working as a jazz ensemble for much of this semester. Jazz Performance Evaluation is an opportunity for school jazz bands to play up to three pieces for a panel of judges and receive feedback and ratings. We are proud to announce that Darlington's Upper School Band earned a "Superior" rating from all three judges! This is the second year in a row that we have earned this distinction. This year's ensemble has worked so hard throughout the year. In order to win this award, each student really had to go above and beyond while playing their part in order to accommodate for the group's smaller size. The Upper School Band has been flexible but also focused. They stood among other very serious and very large jazz programs on Monday, and they were able to still make a good impression on the judges and the other bands in attendance. Congratulations Band! Thank you for representing Darlington at a high level!
