Kim joined Darlington in 2001 as a music and chorus teacher and was named director of fine arts in 2009. Named the inaugural Robert and Anne Zelle Chair of Fine Arts in recognition of her leadership, she has significantly expanded the school’s arts programs across all divisions. Under her direction, Darlington’s arts offerings have grown to include numerous performance opportunities, an annual Fall for the Arts celebration, a robust Arts Integration program, and innovative initiatives like the Darlington Lessons Academy. She has been instrumental in bringing visiting artists to campus and creating meaningful arts experiences for students across all grade levels. A career educator with over three decades of experience, Kim holds a B.M. and B.M.E. from Shorter College and an M.M.E. from the State University of West Georgia. Her dedication to excellence has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Brown Faculty Award, which acknowledges dedication to the school and its students, and the Parents’ Choice Award. She is also a recipient of the George W. Awsumb Faculty Award, presented for her unselfish giving of time and energy to diverse extracurricular activities and her ability to empower students with self-confidence. Kim and her husband, Mark, are the parents of Jack (’15), Hillary (’18) and Sarah (’22).
