Cristy has taught Spanish in the middle grades since 2015 and serves as head of the world languages department. A native Spanish speaker, she holds a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Universidad de Guadalajara in Mexico and an M.A. in Education from Regent University. Cristy has has been teaching Spanish and ESL courses to pre-K to 12 students since 1992. She has been recognized with the Tiger Pride Parents’ award, the Brown Faculty Award and the Betts Award. Cristy has represented Darlington in several international World Language Teachers Conferences as a presenter. She and her husband, Joseph, are the parents of Caleb (’20) and Eli (’21).
