Nathan joined Darlington in 2019 as head boys basketball coach and assistant athletic director. He also serves as a residential duty staff member, living on campus with his family. Under his leadership, the basketball team has been ranked in the GHSA top 10 each season, averaging 20 wins and making five consecutive state playoff appearances, including four Sweet 16 showings and an Elite 8 appearance. His teams captured the 2023 Region Championship—Darlington’s first since 2006—and three consecutive Rome News Tribune and 7 Hills Rotary Club Christmas Tournament Championships (2022-2024). Nathan’s coaching excellence has been recognized with the Region 7A Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year award in 2023 and Northwest Georgia Tip-Off Club Coach of the Year honors in both 2023 and 2024. Before coming to Darlington, Nathan served as head boys basketball coach and assistant principal at Franklin County in Florida, where he led the program to the Elite 8 and Final 4 in consecutive seasons, winning District and Region Championships. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Birmingham Southern College, where he played basketball for three years after transferring from Marion Military Institute, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. Nathan lives on campus with his wife, Lindsay, and their three children, Sawyer (’33), Ridley (’37), and Kannon.
