A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Ashton Albers, a 14-year day student from Rome who credits his teachers and coaches with helping to instill important values in him.

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Larry because he is a great coach! He makes sure that all his players are taken care of and that they always feel valued.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The Student Center because it's a great place for me and my friends to hang out during the school day.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
I have many teachers that have instilled great values in me, but the two teachers that have always stood out are Mrs. Symly and Ms. Haynes because they always took the time out of their schedule to make sure they helped me when I needed it. They always and still do go out of their way to help their students. They helped build confidence in me and made me a better student! I also want to add Mr. Woods. I never had the opportunity to have him as an academic teacher, but he has always played an important role and stands behind his students. Thank you to all my teachers from pre-K to twelfth grade; you all have had an important role in my school career and have made me a better student for it!

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The community, teachers, friendships and what we stand for as a school – 100% Darlington!

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Going to school with students from all over the world.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have been at Darlington since pre-K; it’s hard to measure myself since I have been here since I was 4, but I feel that being at Darlington has helped me grow into the person that I am today. Darlington has made me have more confidence in myself and know that I can do anything that I set my mind to. I feel that Darlington has provided me with a great path to lead me into my future after high school.

What is your dream job?
To work in sports medicine - I have a love for sports and want to be able to continue my career to work with athletes.
