Day #SeniorSpotlight: Abigail Baggett

Maddie Chastain | April 2, 2024 | 337 views

A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Abigail Baggett, a 12-year day student from Rome who traveled to Spain last summer to visit friends she met her sophomore year at Darlington.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Community, family, friendship

What song reminds you of high school?
“Little Party Never Killed Nobody” because it was my sophomore year Lip Sync song, and we won that year.

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Friends”

What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Blue Fin

What house are you a member of?
Thornwood House

What are you involved in at Darlington?
Varsity soccer, “Y” Cabinet, head prefect in Thornwood House

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Mr. Shorey because he never fails to bring the team together and encourages us to play like a family.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
Thornwood House because it feels like a home.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Haynes because she always makes me feel appreciated and never fails to encourage me even when things get hard.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
Being in a house. I love Thornwood House and getting to know the girls from all over the world has been amazing. I have made friends from everywhere that I will never forget.

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
I would never have traveled to Spain this past summer if it wasn't for Manuela and Maria, who were my best friends sophomore year and were from Spain.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have become more social. I feel like I am less intimidated by people and I am more comfortable being social.

What is your dream job?
Being a flight attendant.
