A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Ronan Hunt, a first-year boarding student from Buffalo, N.Y., and member of Darlington School Soccer Academy.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Brotherhood, Memories, Soccer

What song reminds you of high school?
"Don't Worry Be Happy” - Bobby McFerrin

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Prison Break”

What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Giggity’s

What house are you a member of?
Neville House

What are you involved in?
Soccer Academy

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Kevin - he has helped me develop and improve as a player as well as a person. He gives the guys a lot of guidance and tough love, which improves the team's bond and individual performances as well.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The Neville Soccer Fields - every day, I look forward to training with all of my closest friends. It's a way to escape all the stress of school and social life while also improving in the spot I love.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Cox is my favorite teacher; he really cares about his students and puts in effort to relate and understand seniors. His teaching style is really effective and keeps students engaged throughout the whole class.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favorite thing about Darlington is the friends I've been able to meet from all around the world. I've been blessed with the opportunity to come to this school for my senior year and every day I try to make the most of it.

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
I was able to take an exchange student from Finland, who was also one of my teammates in the Academy, home to my house for Thanksgiving break. It was a unique experience showing someone who was foreign a taste of my hometown and being able to open our home to him for a week.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I’ve become a lot more independent. I think the schedule here at Darlington (aside from iPeriod) really prepares young men and women for college. I've been able to get 1-on-1 help with my teachers everyday; this is really helpful when we go on long trips for soccer, like to California or Indiana. I believe Darlington has helped me grow and mature, so the transition into college will be very smooth and I can put all my best foot forward on the field and in the classroom.

What is your dream job?
Work remote in sales or finance and travel the world.
