Welcome home.
As a boarding student at Darlington, it's normal to see your math teacher at breakfast in the dining hall. To celebrate holidays in the dorm with your college adviser. To watch the Super Bowl with your school counselor. To cook food for the International Fair in your English teacher's kitchen. And to celebrate each birthday with the 30 housemates who have quickly become your brothers and sisters.
This is what Darlington's House System is all about. Our boarding students live in one of six houses on campus, three for boys and three for girls, each managed by a head of house and faculty members who live on campus. At most boarding schools, your dorm parent might also be a full-time teacher and coach. Not at Darlington. Our heads of house serve as full-time advocates and confidantes, helping you balance structure and routine with opportunities for independence and leadership.
We are proud of our English-style House System because it encourages the development of strong, lifelong student-faculty mentoring relationships and creates an immediate sense of camaraderie for the students who are making their home at Darlington.
